A micro wedding is a smaller, more intimate wedding, typically 20 - 30 guests, that includes some of the key elements of a traditional wedding but on a more personal scale. It’s the middle ground between an elopement and a big celebration, offering a relaxed atmosphere, unique venue options, and a more cost effective option for an epic celebration.

In New Zealand, a legal marriage requires a marriage licence, an authorised marriage celebrant, the legally required vows spoken in English, and at least two witnesses present to sign the paperwork.

Given our alpine environment and its renown changeable weather conditions it is best to never rely on the weather to play its part. We always have a backup plan in place. The beauty of elopements is flexibility and we can adjust timing, location, or move indoors if needed and fortunately even when the weather isn’t perfect the views are always incredible.

Most ceremonies last 10 - 30 minutes, but it can be as short or as long as you’d like depending on what we include in your ceremony and how you would like it to flow.

Yes, most elopement and micro wedding packages include professional photography. This is such an important part of your day, and we ensure you’ll have beautiful memories to look back on.

I recommend booking at least 3-6 months in advance for the best availability, but I can sometimes accommodate shorter timelines depending on the season and requirements.

Our packages are priced according to what they offer and the time they take to piece together however no package is fixed and adding on extras is as easy as asking. Hitched in the High Country simply want to make your day as perfect as possible.
